Would You Take This Job? — Does the contractor flexibility and high per-appointment pay make virtual notary work attractive to you, or would you prefer a traditional W-2 notary role?

I’ve done remote loan signings; ‘per appointment’ is standard — confirm platform fees and E&O.

At $125 ‘per appointment,’ my RON sessions average 25–35 minutes; verify state RON approval and net-30 pay, @OP.

From my RON gigs: I’d ask @OP, ‘Who pays for KBA/credential analysis retries and no-shows?’ — those platform charges and extra seal fees can chew up the top end fast. My refi sessions on BlueNotary run about 30 minutes, but audit logging and record retention push the workflow closer to an hour, so think in terms of per signing rather than hourly and test your mic/cam unless you enjoy mime work.

Quick tip: confirm who handles the audio/video recording retention and storage costs; my state requires 10 years and one platform hit me with a monthly archive fee. Also ask whether they provide the X.509 digital certificate and e-seal or you’re buying/renewing those yourself, @wolf1827 — nothing like finding out your ‘virtual file cabinet’ charges rent.
