My stamp lost to a bumpy table

Found out at 10:12 a.m. that our city hall lobby table is textured like an orange peel — my seal looked like it went through a gravel pit. I slid a clear report cover under the page and got a crisp redo; what’s your go-to save when the “desk” fights back?

I carry a thin “self-healing cutting mat” and slide it under the doc — dead-flat surface even on orange-peel tables; quick caveat: wipe it first so grit doesn’t ghost the seal. Ever tried that, @OP?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

A thin rigid “shitajiki” writing board lives in my bag; slide it under the doc and do a “straight down, no rock” press, and the seal comes out clean even on orange-peel desks. Tiny caveat: add rubber bumpers so it doesn’t skate, or use the back of your clipboard if glare’s an issue (Pencil board - Wikipedia).

Same headache at 10:12 vibes — I keep a thin 8x10 acrylic photo insert in my bag; put it beneath the page and do one clean press for a sharp seal. Quick caveat: wipe static dust off first or the ink can halo, and if I forget it, the cardboard back of a legal pad works in a pinch. @aurorawal83 ever try acrylic vs the board?
