Keep secure, auditable records of sessions and follow state notary and platform rules. Required / Preferred Qualifications:
Active state Notary Public commission (and any state-required RON authorization).
Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace for remote video sessions; webcam and microphone.
Background check/compliance with platform and title-company requirements (NNA or platform checks commonly requested).

I take these as filler - first week I did five NotaryCam sessions and two got bumped when the signer failed KBA, so now I send a quick pre-session note: have the physical ID ready, strong lighting, and past address history handy; that cut fails almost entirely. I also open availability 6-9 pm local, which is when I get the most pings.
These are solid as gap-fillers for me; I open 30-minute blocks and send a pre-session text: use Chrome on a laptop, have the physical ID ready, good light, and be prepared for KBA (past addresses/vehicles, last 4 SSN). After losing one $40 session to an iPad/Safari KBA fail, that note cut my bumps to almost zero.
NotaryCam works as true ‘on-demand’ filler for me, but the real win was building a quick checklist for state-specific certificate wording and dropping a thorough e-journal note even though the platform keeps the recording. @juliannel I only take larger loan packages when I’m at my desk with dual monitors; otherwise I stick to single-page notarizations. Small caveat: since compensation varies by assignment, I pass on anything that doesn’t show the rate upfront.
