Why can't we get more clear instructions

I keep running into situations where the notary instructions are vague or just plain confusing. Last week, I had a signing where the client had no idea they needed to bring a second form of ID. Wouldn’t it be simpler if the requirements were spelled out clearly in every appointment confirmation? It’s frustrating for everyone involved.

I totally get that. I’ve started including a note in my confirmation emails reminding clients to check ID requirements before the appointment. It helps reduce confusion, but you’re right — there’s always a chance someone might miss it.

It can be tough with last-minute surprises like ID requirements. I started adding a quick checklist in my appointment details — just a simple reminder about what to bring. It’s been helpful in avoiding those awkward moments at the signing. Have you tried something similar?
