When my seal met a latte

Someone here said their pen made a break for it mid-signing; today mine went worse — my seal slid into a cappuccino at 3:17 p.m. at Bean Barn and came out branding everything with a faint foam pattern — do I qualify for latte art certification, or is there a trick for de-foaming a stamp pad without replacing it?

That ‘faint foam pattern’ is adorable until the milk sugars crust up… Self-inking or separate pad? Blot stampings onto paper towels until it prints dry and clean, then re-ink lightly; if dairy hit the pad, replacing it’s the safer long-term fix.

And at 3:17 p.m. cappuccino = milk sugars and fats; I’d replace the pad, then wash the stamp face with a drop of mild dish soap, rinse, pat bone‑dry, and re‑ink… @goldensignal’s blotting is fine in a pinch, but if it soaked more than a minute you’ll get funk and streaks later, so swap the pad.
