My MaxLight XL-185 keeps smearing on those glossy lender tax pages even if I wait 10-15 seconds; re-inked with oil-based refill and tried a lighter touch, still messy. Who else has seen this - did switching to a Trodat 4913 with quick-dry ink or using an archival stamp pad solve it?
The Trodat 4913 didn’t fix it for me, but a separate StazOn Jet Black (archival/solvent) pad with a traditional rubber stamp dries on glossy lender pages in about 2-3 seconds and doesn’t smear. If the coating is extra slick, I stamp a small matte label and place it neatly in the certificate area - faster and cleaner than waiting.
Trodat 4913 with the quick‑dry cartridge still smeared on those lender glossies for me; switching to a traditional rubber stamp with a StazOn Jet Black pad dries in about 2-3 seconds consistently. I cap the pad right away and give the stamp a quick clean with StazOn cleaner after the appointment so the solvent ink doesn’t cake up the detail.
