Finding work after a career break

I’ve been on a career break for about two years to care for my kids, and now I’m looking to jump back into the workforce. It reminds me of when my cousin returned to work after a similar gap; she started networking on LinkedIn and took a couple of online courses. I’m curious if anyone has tips or experiences to share on re-entering the job market after a break.

, this drives me nuts too! I took a break similar to yours and found that volunteering not only helped me regain my confidence but also expanded my network. It’s a great way to show potential employers that you’re proactive.

Getting back into the workforce after a break can be daunting. When I returned, I focused on my LinkedIn profile and joined a few relevant groups to connect with others in my field. Taking that step helped me get back in touch with my professional network, which is so crucial — don’t underestimate the power of connections.

I took a similar break and found that freelance projects on platforms like Upwork helped me ease back in. Have you thought about trying that?
